America, Let's Keep It This Way

I've seen the look in her eyes, his hands upon her waist.
She looks at him and smiles.   My parents then embrace.
They've given me a heritage and together shown me God's true love.
I shudder to think of the many lives who don't know what this means.

(Chorus)
It means Mom is there to wipe my tears, to hold my hands through those tough teen years
To say, "I was there.   I know how you feel to wash the clothes and make the meals."
She's a picture of the woman God wants me to be.
It means Dad is there to teach the Word and tell the best story I've ever heard
And hold my love in his heart 'til the day another claims his part.
Thank God for the day they said, "I do!"
America, Let's Keep It This Way!

Imagine what your life would be without a mom or dad.
Some don't know, some don't care, what they could have had.
No one's there to teach them how to be that woman or man of God.
Rejecting Him they find themselves confused to what this means.

(Chorus)

Who here wants to keep God's ways the law of our land,
Saving lives from such a fate?   Do you say, "Here I am?!"

In homes, work or churches, to parents, pastors or senators,
Do you dare to lift your voice?   What does marriage mean to you?

It means Mom and Dad as man and wife in the sight of God for all of life
To bring up children strong to overcome the kingdom of that wicked one
And raise a generation that cries out - "America, Let's Keep It This Way."
