The Plourd Family Quartet (PFQ)
By a Wheel and a Prayer
Well, it gets us around with a "clickety-clack" sound.

What's a puff of smoke and who needs a choke?!
A little crack in the door makes it sound like a seashore.
With some rust on the core, boy, it sure is an eyesore!
Well, there ain't no second gear, but that's OK.
We've learned to drive it any old way.
Well, it's got some flair and needs repair.
But, without a prayer, we'd be gettin' nowhere!
It's the sandals on the feet that won't wear out.
It's exactly what our God's about.
It's the cruise of oil that won't run dry.
Such promises and we wonder why!
Keeps movin' on while we're singin' a song,
While we're pickin' along, somehow it runs strong!
It's tender care from our Lord up there
Held together by a wheel and a prayer.
Well, the gas pedal sticks and the old engine kicks.
It's been breathin' its last for many years past.
So, I tell this tale that God prevails.
'Cuz without a prayer we'd be gettin' nowhere.
For there shall be showers of blessing - this is the promise of love.
There shall be seasons refreshing, sent from the Savior above.
Showers of blessing, showers of blessing we need.
Mercy drops 'round us are falling, but for the showers we plead.
His promises ring true for you and me,
'Cuz patient is what He wants us to be.
Now faith is not believin' in what we see,
So what we count on is His mercy.
