Sowin' Seed
Arranged and Composed by Stephen P. Plourd

Oh, a farmer just sowed his seed down by the wayside and the birds came down and took it all away.
Oh, sometimes the Word of God falls by the wayside and the devil comes and takes it all away.

(Chorus)
Just sow your seed on solid ground and don't you be surprised to see it grow.
It's the best kind of seed I've ever found - it's the Word of God and that's all I need to know.

Some of the seed fell down on the stony ground and when the sun came up it withered all away.
Oh, when you hear the Word of God and it doesn't take root, you'll take it when it's easy, but drop it when it's tough.

(Chorus)

And yet more of the seed fell among some thorns and when it all grew up, you had to pick it all.
Oh, when the Word of God gets choked by this world, you can't tell the good from the bad.   And you end up picking it all.

(Chorus (2X))
